Be the change
About
Carbon Calling is stepping off the stage and back into the fields, launching a new campaign to support three forward-thinking farmers with a year of hands-on coaching from our team and trusted partners.

What
After the success of this year’s conference which was bigger than before; over three days with over 400 people, we’re taking Carbon Calling on the road for something new.

Be The Change is a year long coaching programme using the Carbon Calling network of professional partners to give you support and direction for a clearer future for your farm.
Who
We’re looking to recruit three farms across the North and Midlands who are willing to work with us for 12 months, taking a deep dive into their farm, and ultimately host an on-farm event in June 2026.
We are looking for farms who make most of their income from farming, who are interested in making changes to their system (e.g. reducing inputs, changing breeds, detailed soil tests, encouraging more nature through schemes, getting different people onto their farms) or are confused with where they have got to and need some additional support.

HOW
The Carbon Calling team will walk your land with you, sharing knowledge, asking questions and building real resilience from the ground up. If you’re ready to dig deeper, to challenge what you think you know, and to grow a thriving farm system, this is for you.
The financial value of this support is over £8,000 per farm and will include:
-
peer support from others in the project
-
coaching from Liz Genever and Nic Renison covering finances, soil, animal performance and personal objectives such as succession planning and family dynamics, and opportunities to dig deeper into building mental resilience
-
grazing mentoring from Paul Renison, Cannerheugh Farm
-
ecology and environmental schemes health-check with Tim Nicholson, Sleastonhow Farm
-
subsidised soil, forage and compost testing, including support from Daniel Iddion from Re Genus
-
tailored support (e.g. specialists in wood pasture creation, vermicomposting, renewables or family dynamics) once the farm’s objectives are clearer
The small print:
This is open to farms in the North of England and the Midlands. The closing date for applications is Friday 5th September 2025. Successful farms will need to host a Carbon Calling event in June 2026 on their farm for up to 100 people. .
